Same team on a ten minute fix as on a fortnight’s work. Here’s what each job involves.
Full list
Emergency calls answered 24 hours a day across Dewsbury and the Spen Valley.
In detail
Two things matter when a pipe goes: how fast somebody picks the phone up, and whether they know what to do when they arrive.
Bursts, frozen pipes letting go in a thaw, leaks under sinks and baths, cisterns overflowing, seized stopcocks and heating dead in a cold snap. Made safe first, priced second, repaired third.
The houses round Dewsbury and the Spen Valley are big, tall and often stone. Heating systems in them have usually been extended, patched and partly replaced over decades, and it shows in how unevenly they heat.
We powerflush systems that have silted up, balance radiators properly so the far end of the house gets its share, fit magnetic filters so the sludge stops coming back, and convert to a cylinder where a combi is being asked to do something it physically cannot. Very often that costs less than the new boiler somebody else quoted for.
Gas Safe registered, so servicing, repairs, swaps and certificates all stay in-house.
Combi, system and heat-only boilers, plus unvented cylinders. In a three storey house with two bathrooms the right answer is usually a system boiler and a cylinder, and we’ll say so even though it is the longer job.
Whole bathrooms from stripping out to the last bead of silicone, or a single shower swapped in an afternoon. Both get the same first fix.
Falls on the wastes, valve positions set before the wall closes, everything tested before it gets boarded. The part nobody sees, and the only part that matters in five years.
The obvious ones are easy. The costly ones creep — a patch on a ceiling, a meter ticking over with everything off, a cellar that smells damp when it never did.
Traced back to where it’s actually coming from rather than opening the nearest wall and hoping, then shown to you before we put it right.
New rads, vertical panels for narrow walls, column radiators that suit older rooms, and moves where the original was somewhere impractical.
If a room never warms up we find out why properly rather than bleeding it and hoping. Half the time it’s balancing, and balancing costs nothing but somebody’s time.
FAQs
If the system is genuinely silted, yes — it’s usually the difference between a house that heats and one that doesn’t, at a fraction of a new boiler. If somebody has told you that you need one purely because you’re getting a boiler fitted, ask them to show you why.
Often that’s all it needs, and we’ll tell you when that’s the case. It’s the cheapest fix in heating and the most frequently skipped, because it takes a couple of hours and nobody sells a product doing it.
Yes. It means finding space for the cylinder and running new pipework, so it’s not a small job, but in a big house with more than one bathroom it’s often the only thing that genuinely solves the problem.
Either. We can supply everything, or fit a boiler, suite or tap set you’ve bought. Say which when you ring.
Yes — Gas Safe registered, so we carry out and certify landlord checks and can service the boiler on the same visit.
Yes. Old parts and packaging go on the van, floors swept, anything moved put back.
